about
At it's core, The Longest Days is Matt Pence, Steve Rauner, Adam Reichmann, and Todd Schnitzer. Todd, Adam, and Steve started a band called Nadine in 1996 in St. Louis, Missouri and released three records together, "Back To My Senses, "Downtown, Saturday", and "Lit Up from the Inside." Matt first started collaborating with the crew in 1999, playing some drums on and mastering "Downtown, Saturday." After Todd left the band in 2001 Steve and Adam continued to work together as Nadine, collaborating with a number of other talented musicians in St. Louis. Matt Pence engineered and co-produced Nadine's final record "Strange Seasons," released in 2003.
After a few false starts over the last 7 years, everyone decided to dig in and finish up a track together. Hope you enjoy it. The plan is that you'll hear from us at least once a year until we are deaf, dead, or Steve is put on the No-Fly list.
In any case, we think it's a great excuse for old friends to get together now and again.
Hope you dig it.
Huge thanks to Steve Bunck who played the main drum part, Cory Gray for the horns, Buffi Jacobs for the strings, and the cross continental background singers for making us sound much better than we are: Laura Gibson, Willie Vlautin, Brent Knopf, John Askew, Seth Rothschild, Shayla Hason, Maggie Hanson, and Ben Davis.
A surprisingly tender and intimate concept record about long distance love from Cody Votolato of The Blood Brothers/Head Wound City. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 30, 2019
Woozy, rollicking indie rock that's thick and humid, searching vocals set against pealing guitars. Also available on cassette. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2016
Tom Heyman documents life in San Francisco circa 2023, refusing to succumb to easy characterization & instead capturing the city’s nuance. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 22, 2023
